Today was a good day. Maybe even a great day. The tide was rising, the shoreward wind picking up and the waves just kept coming. Perched in a nearly cloudless sky, the Sun wanted to peel the salty skin right off of my bald dome, but for my Tilley. With wind cords arranged perfectly, chin strap securely under my chin, flippers propelling me to that edge we riders crave, the waves’ collective churning efforts to separate me from my hat were all for naught. The highlight? That moment when the young standup surfers with their wetsuits and long boards grant me a spot in their cue for prime waves. Thanks Alex. (now let’s see if any of these photos my wife took will be small enough to post - fingers crossed) Attachments:

So… the first post, I was shredding waves in my 7 3/4 sized Tilley, wind cords deployed, and it stayed in place despite regular hydronautical turbulance.
Today, the waves were calmer and a bit smaller, but my 7 5/8 sized LTM6 was repeatedly sucked from my head, even despite my expert wind cord placement! (Yay for floating Tilleys, she was, eventually, recovered each time).
The only possible explanation for this difference…. A freshly shaved skull today.
Doh!
