Hey DrumWhat do you think? Mid 90s? It doesn't have the website but it does have the wire in the brim.

Yes, that is a tricky label that I’ve not quite figured out. I have come to think of it as the “Care Instructions” label. It’s the last of the small crown labels (2 1/2”x 3 3/4” or 6.5cm x 10cm) and has both the 900 Don Mills address and the 800# which place it after 1987 at a minimum. As there is another small crown label that includes both, I think of this “Care Instructions” label as the third and final small crown label. I’m also pretty sure that the use of this label and the previous label overlapped. The missing website is a conundrum tho. If the website was created in March, 1995, then one has to assume that Tilley began to add that info to their labels with reasonable alacrity. Even if it took them a while to build a website sufficient to invite people to visit via crown labels, could it have taken them 5 years to change the labels? I know things are different in Canada. 🇨🇦 TL:DR - Early 90’s to late 90’s, basically, “the 90’s” is my guess. And yes, pristine shape. Another one of those retirement presents that sat on the recipient’s head exactly once. Lol! Seems an all too common fate for T3s if EBay is any guide. i hope you chose one that was at least a size smaller than you usually wear. For me, a 7 3/4 seems to be my size but the brand new 1980’s 7 5/8 T3 that I got is still way too big. Probably I should give it a good wash and shrink and it will be perfect. Any paperwork in yours? D

D The fit seems to fit correctly and yes I bet it was a gift. Worn once and then straight on a shelf. No paper work in the crown. I always check with the excitement that I might find a 20 dollar bill. LOL
